  • Pickups: 3 Gibson/Epiphone mini humbuckers
  • Finish: Cherry red or Olympic white cellulosic lacquer
    (about 7 layers)
  • Diverse: Grover "rotomatique" tuners and Bigsby vibrato

These guitars were used extensively by Fred Smith (MC5), Johnny Winter, later on, Deniz Tek (Radio Birdman), and many other high-energy bands from Detroit to Sydney.

Proto Birdman
  • Scale: 640 mm or 24"3/4
  • Wood:
    • Body: Mahogany with maple top
    • Neck: Mahogany
    • Fretboard: Ebony
  • Pickups: 3 mini Seymour Duncan (bridge and rhythm: vintage alnico. middle: Seymourised)
  • Finish: Celulosic Cherry Burst
  • Diverse: Two switches provide all pickup sounds: very fast and accurate way of getting the sound you want when you want it

Guitar made with a modernised outlook on the Crestwood, as a hommage to Radio Birdman.

  • Pickups: 2 PAFs 57" Gibson
  • Finish: Natural
  • Diverse: (Nothing - just one volume, one tone, one switch!)

This guitar is not an exact replica of Fred Smith's Ricky, but was made with it in mind.

Two guitars-in-one represent twice as many problems - hence the name Double Trouble!
